AIRCRAFT TECHNICIAN (AVIONICS) Full Time
As an Aircraft Technician (Avionics) you will keep our aircraft airborne by carrying out maintenance and repair work on the sophisticated electronic and on board avionics.
This role is an Enlisted Aviator role. In the application form you will need to select the Other Ranks option.
What will you do?
- Give the pilot real-time access to comprehensive battle-space information, and the ability to share sensor data, and actionable information
- Ensure the high performance of aircraft radar, communication, reconnaissance and target acquisition equipment
- Repair on-board technologies that select, arm and release weapons
- Maintain the systems that generate and distribute electricity on aircraft
- Provide engineering support to aircraft systems that are operated whilst in flight, or provide aircraft engineering support when the aircraft is deployed
- Travel overseas to support RAF aircraft and equipment on operations and exercises
Minimum Education Requirements
- As a minimum, you will need GCSE’s at grade C/4 or Scottish National 5’s at grade C in English Language, Mathematics and an approved Science / Technology based subject
Requirements
- Be aged 16 – 47 years old (Must attest before 48th birthday)
- Must be a citizen of the United Kingdom or holder of dual UK/other nationality
- Commit to a minimum 3 years after completion of specialist training
- Pass the Defence Aptitude Assessment
- Pass a fitness test
